The Chief Whip, Marcel Odunze also tendered his letter of resignation. Tendering their resignation, the former majority leader said the action was in the `collective interest’ of the assembly.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 17 of the 27 members of the assembly boycotted the plenary session and observed proceedings from the press gallery.
NAN also reports that there was a heavy presence of armed security personnel at the assembly earlier, prompting members to converge at the Speaker’s lodge.
Meanwhile, the Speaker, Dr Acho Ihim, announced the appointment of the member representing Ikeduru, Dr Uche Oguwike, as the new Majority Leader and Mr Chinedu Offor as the new Deputy Minority leader.
Ihim also replaced the chief whip with Mr Arthur Egwim (APC) representing Ideato North.

I nor go be "mugu" forever now, abi? Even the neo promoters eyes must also clear one day to realise there's no "flesh on stock-fish head".DjNotorious Marshall broke his silence after promoting Chopkiss (

This is not an apology, it's like a clarification or rejoiner or whatever U wants to call it of my previous post: DJ Notorious Marshall read.
I didn't really mean to come here to spoil any promoter's market, I came to say my mind like facebook always asks "What's on your mind"? So please no one should think my post is about them abeg, God knows if I had anyone in mind before my write-up I'll go straight and name names without mincing words.

For God's sake like one of the comment on my previous post I agrees 100% that every products or artist got it's price tagg no doubt (Gucci or Versace nor dey same price level with Zara) But everyone still have to agree with me that we have seen artists with only one hit or lowly rated artist not even worth up to our own EU based act been sold to some of 'em "New comers" promoters here in EU at an exuberant price that the artists are not really worth (just like selling Fake Versace for price of the original is a rip-off), many of these neo or modern versions of promoters has been victim of losses they're ashamed to come here to confess about.

I have also been a "JJC" and victim sometime ago too but today I have started learning how to cut my "coats" according to my size. I been able to count the costs, the gains and also count the loses so now I always tries to balance the sheets (Make minus and Plus before jumping on any artist show no matter how much am tempted to organize that show) .

I nor go be "mugu" forever now, abi? Even the neo promoters eyes must also clear one day to realise there's no "flesh on stock-fish head". Just like losses there had also been time U atleast balance the checks but your clients are not happy cause they didn't get what they paid for and they feels cheated. So why I made my post about "Bracket" like a testimony is that I thought I did 2 successful shows here in Spain not only cause I felt like I balanced my checks but because I saw the artist performed for more than 1 hour which is very rare in Nigerian and many afrobeat artists (1 good hour my people, when was the time I have witnessed that for God's sake?) They still wanted to keep performing If I didn't beg them to stop cause they got a early morning flight to catch to their next venue.

I saw the fans so happy and excited almost eating the artist raw, the artist also very happy to relate and take pictures with their fans after their performance even though they could have "faked" tiredness. So I now asked myself just like facebook always asks me what's on my mind, "How I wish every artist or show coming to EU can be like Bracket's show?? I could do Bracket show every week here in Madrid and people will still turn up with all pleasures". Where am really going here is that it's high time we also think about that "entertainment" aspect of this Afrobeat showbiz movement not just the business part and that one sided winners gain it all way.

I mean a win win part of it where the artist is content (got promoted by the promoter and still smile home with money), the tour promoter happy, the show hosts happy and most especially the fans are happy. So when I said "sanity" I mean real sanity, I will never be fooled by those "hype" tour promoters comes on social media to shout "sold-out show" (My eyes don open pass like that now, we know wetin dey) my brothers and sisters don't be fooled, ask the host of that show how much remain for his pocket after the show make dem tell U.

That show host (promoter) for sure is even avoiding phone calls of people who he might have borrowed money from to run that show trust me. EU Afrobeat Showbiz movements needs to take to another dimension, it's not on a competition levels things but doing it right cause the whole world is watching us and maybe finally we'll get the supports and investments we lacks around this part of this world when the investors notices we're doing great things worth risking their money on. My name is "Notorious Marshal" am not that common sense "senator" so I didn't come here to make sense but to clear my mind of what I have inside it. God bless y'all for taking time to read my essay.

In the end, the equation we all knew coming in turned out to be true: The best boxer in the world beat one of the best mixed martial artists in a boxing match. see pictures

LAS VEGAS -- In the end, the equation we all knew coming in turned out to be true: The best boxer in the world beat one of the best mixed martial artists in a boxing match.
How we got there, however, was completely surprising.

In his return from a two-year retirement, Floyd Mayweather improved to 50-0 with a 10th-round TKO over an incredibly game Conor McGregor in their pay-per-view superfight at T-Mobile Arena. But the storyline was just as much about McGregor, the UFC lightweight champion, in defeat than it was about the 40-year-old Mayweather in victory.
McGregor, 29, who was making his debut as a boxer, never fought reckless or overly aggressive, in contrast to his prediction of a first-round knockout. What he did was present Mayweather with a poised and credible challenge, teasing a bright future in the boxing game should he consider it.
"He's a lot better than I thought he was," Mayweather said. "He used different angles. He was a tough competitor, but I was the better man tonight.
"We talked about how he's a tough competitor, and I think we gave the fans what they wanted to see. I chose a hell of a dance partner to dance with. Conor McGregor, you are a hell of a champion."
Mayweather, who officially announced his retirement after the fight, was true to his prediction throughout the fight's build when he promised it wouldn't go the distance. He also stuck to his guns about standing in front of McGregor looking for a finish.
After a slow start in which Mayweather gave away the first three rounds in order to pick up McGregor's rhythms, the former pound-for-pound king began his attack.
Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) focused on the body in the middle rounds in an effort to zap McGregor's gas tank. The investment began to pay off as McGregor looked weary late in Round 7. Two rounds later, McGregor was lucky to make the final bell as Mayweather wobbled him with right hands.
"He's a tough competitor" Mayweather said. "Our game plan was to take our time, let him shoot all his heavy shots early and then take him out at the end down the stretch."
Round 10 was all Mayweather as he walked down the fading Irishman with right hands. After a clean combination against the ropes, referee Robert Byrd jumped in at 1:05 to wave off the fight.
"I thought it was close. Let me go down, let the man put me down," McGregor said about the finish. "Wobbly and fatigued? I'm clear-headed. Let me wobble back to me corner. If they finished that round he'd be wobbling to the morgue.
"You've got to put me out. No one is taking these kinds of risks."
Mayweather outlanded McGregor, 170 to 111, according to CompuBox, and landed 58 percent of his power shots. From Rounds 6-10, Mayweather outlanded his opponent by a count of 130-60.
At the time of the stoppage, Mayweather led on all three judges' scorecards (87-83, 89-82, 89-81).
Although McGregor's punching power began to fade along with his stamina, he stayed in the fight throughout the middle rounds by using activity and slap punches. He also did well to sneak in shots from the clinch without becoming too dirty.
In the end, McGregor never fought too far outside of boxing rules, which many had expected he would try once things got bad. Byrd gave both fighters a lengthy warning during the final seconds before the opening bell and was consistent in the amount of time he gave both fighters to work in the clinch before breaking them up. Byrd warned McGregor for rabbit punching twice -- and both fighters for pushing -- but never was in a position where a deduction was needed.
For all of the pre-fight predictions about McGregor struggling as a novice, the MMA star showed good technique and an overall respect for the sweet science. He also forced Mayweather to fight and avoided a one-sided performance in defeat that nearly all critics predicted.
"I thought I took the early rounds pretty easy," McGregor said. "He's composed. He's not that fast, he's not that powerful, but boy, is he composed.
"I turned [Mayweather] into a Mexican tonight. He fought like a Mexican."
Mayweather, in his first fight since outpointing Andre Berto in September 2015, eclipsed the revered 49-0 mark of Rocky Marciano, who retired as unbeaten heavyweight champion.
"A win is a win, no matter how you get it," Mayweather said. "Rocky Marciano is a legend, and I look forward to going into the Hall of Fame one day.
"This was my last fight tonight. For sure. Tonight was my last fight."

Former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, said, yesterday, that his house in Gwarimpa, Abuja, was stripped bare by thieves who carted away all movable items in the house.

Interior of former President Jonathan’s home, stripped bare by thieves. Jonathan, who spoke through a statement issued by his spokesman, Ikechukwu Eze, last night, said the theft was discovered last month, after which it was reported to relevant police authorities He said six of those arrested by the police were actually policemen guarding the house, contrary to confirmation by FCT Police Command on Monday that only four policemen were arrested in respect of the burglary. The statement read: “Following series of enquiries from journalists and other concerned Nigerians on the extent of the reported vandalisation and theft in the house of former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan located in Gwarimpa, Abuja, we, therefore, would like to make the following clarifications: The theft was discovered last month upon which a report was duly lodged with the relevant police authorities. “The police immediately commenced investigations which led to the arrest and detention of some suspects, six of whom were policemen, even as investigations continue. “The house, which the former President bought from CITEC estate developers in 2004, was totally stripped bare by the thieves who stole every movable item in the house, including furniture sets, beds, electronics, toilet and electrical fittings, as well as all internal doors and frames. “However, contrary to exaggerated reports in some media, only six television sets, three refrigerators and one gas cooker were stolen. Being that the house is a modest, a 4-bedroom duplex, it couldn’t have been fitted with “36 Plasma television sets and about 25 refrigerators” as falsely reported by some media outfits. “We thank all Nigerians for their show RFead More..

Story highlights

  • Shaesta Waiz began her journey from Florida in a six-seater plane
  • She was born in a refugee camp in Afghanistan and was terrified of flying as a girl
Shaesta Waiz arrives in Montreal on May 15 on the third leg of her round-the-world solo flight. The first time Shaesta Waiz remembers seeing a plane, she was a child watching the news about an aircraft accident.
"I said to my mom, 'I hope I never ever have to fly in an airplane,'" she said. "I was so scared and terrified."
Now Waiz is a certified pilot in the middle of a solo flight around the world. By the time the 30-year-old completes her journey in September in Daytona Beach, Florida, she plans to have made more than two dozen stops in some 18 countries.
She also hopes her trip will "inspire girls and young women worldwide to dream big and achieve more," especially in the fields of science, math, engineering and aviation.
Her flight, in a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza A36, will take Waiz more than 25,000 miles. But it pales compared to her personal journey, which began three decades ago in a refugee camp in Afghanistan.
