Former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, said, yesterday, that his house in Gwarimpa, Abuja, was stripped bare by thieves who carted away all movable items in the house.

Former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, said, yesterday, that his house in Gwarimpa, Abuja, was stripped bare by thieves who carted away all movable items in the house.

Jonathan, who spoke through a statement issued by his spokesman, Ikechukwu Eze, last night, said the theft was discovered last month, after which it was reported to relevant police authorities He said six of those arrested by the police were actually policemen guarding the house, contrary to confirmation by FCT Police Command on Monday that only four policemen were arrested in respect of the burglary. The statement read: “Following series of enquiries from journalists and other concerned Nigerians on the extent of the reported vandalisation and theft in the house of former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan located in Gwarimpa, Abuja, we, therefore, would like to make the following clarifications: The theft was discovered last month upon which a report was duly lodged with the relevant police authorities. “The police immediately commenced investigations which led to the arrest and detention of some suspects, six of whom were policemen, even as investigations continue. “The house, which the former President bought from CITEC estate developers in 2004, was totally stripped bare by the thieves who stole every movable item in the house, including furniture sets, beds, electronics, toilet and electrical fittings, as well as all internal doors and frames. “However, contrary to exaggerated reports in some media, only six television sets, three refrigerators and one gas cooker were stolen. Shaesta Waiz arrives in Montreal on May 15 on the third leg of her round-the-world solo flight.

• She was born in a refugee camp in Afghanistan and was terrified of flying as a girl

The first time Shaesta Waiz remembers seeing a plane, she was a child watching the news about an aircraft accident.

"I said to my mom, 'I hope I never ever have to fly in an airplane,'" she said. "I was so scared and terrified."

Now Waiz is a certified pilot in the middle of a solo flight around the world. By the time the 30-year-old completes her journey in September in Daytona Beach, Florida, she plans to have made more than two dozen stops in some 18 countries.

She also hopes her trip will "inspire girls and young women worldwide to dream big and achieve more," especially in the fields of science, math, engineering and aviation.

Her flight, in a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza A36, will take Waiz more than 25,000 miles. But it pales compared to her personal journey, which began three decades ago in a refugee camp in Afghanistan.

while in Nigeria i used to go from club to club, E.g His and hers, the limit, Stars night club, Popis corner and my Aunty the good Samarithan through his son Roy Imohimi created a night club inside the then The good samaritan Hospital where we all were frequenting, as a young man i used to hold parties for  no reason, funny enough i was even collecting gate fees, we used to borrow speakers from  Major Ayeni son, Friday Ayeni when i did not have the money to rent from the rental store, its was all fun.

David Steven, from Edo State, has been accused of being violent towards his wife Vivian. Graphic photos were shared on Facebook yesterday showing his battered wife in hospital.
