Brits search for Irish passports after Brexit vote

View image on Twitter

British citizens began frantically looking for ways to keep their European citizenship on Friday morning after a referendum on leaving the EU passed in a close vote.
Google search data showed a spike in searches for "getting an Irish passport" from the UK.
Citizens of European Union member states can travel freely across the continent right now. Any restrictions that may be placed on British travelers post-Brexit will be dependent on negotiations between London and Brussels.

Scotland to seek independence from UK after EU vote, first minister says, first problem of cracked uk.

(CNN)Scotland will likely seek independence for a second time this decade after the historic vote for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union, Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said Friday.
Sturgeon's Scottish National Party was elected on a platform that vowed, in part, to revisit the independence issue -- last decided in a failed 2014 referendum -- should the country be "taken out of the EU against our will," Sturgeon said.
"Scotland does now face that prospect," Sturgeon said. "It is a significant and material change in circumstances, and it is therefore a statement of the obvious that the option of a second referendum must be on the table, and it is on the table."
What's next for the United Kingdom? 05:30
Scotland is one of four countries that make up the United Kingdom. England, Wales and Northern Ireland are the others. Scottish voters overwhelmingly backed remaining in the EU, 62% in favor of staying to 38% who want to leave.
Sturgeon said her government would begin preparing legislation for a new referendum that could be held before the UK formally leaves the EU -- two years from when the government formally notifies the bloc of its intent to drop

She said she felt it unlikely that UK leaders would try to block the effort, saying it is "highly likely" that a new independence referendum will be held.
In the 2014 vote, 55% of Scottish voters cast ballots in favor of remaining in the United Kingdom, but Sturgeon said Friday that many of those who voted against independence then are reassessing their positions in light of Thursday's decision.

Divided kingdom: This map tells a pretty big story

(CNN)While the British people voted convincingly to leave the European Union, a deeply polarized country has emerged.
More than 30 million people from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland -- and even tiny Gibraltar -- went to the polls, with 51.89% of them deciding that Britain would become the first country to withdraw from the 28-member bloc.
Yet 48% of voters disagreed with that decision, leaving a remarkably clear picture geographically. London, Scotland and Northern Ireland wanted to remain, while voters in Wales and every English region outside of the capital backed the campaign to leave.
The decision has already led to the resignation of Prime Minister David Cameron.
Barely a year after he led his party to a parliamentary majority, many of the traditional Conservative heartlands across the country appeared to turn against their leader following a passionate -- sometimes bitter -- campaign that focused on the economy and immigration.
And the repercussions could affect Britain's own union too.

Second Scottish referendum?

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was quick to emphasize that the Scottish people see their future as part of the EU. All 32 of Scotland's local authorities backed the Remain campaign. "Scotland has spoken, and spoken decisively," she said.
Ominous words given that a second referendum on Scotland's own position within the United Kingdom was part of the Scottish National Party's manifesto during the recent Scottish parliamentary election.

Former First Minister and SNP leader Alex Salmond, the architect of the 2014 independence referendum that ended in defeat for the nationalists, warned a second ballot was likely if the country is "dragged" out of the EU.

Irish union

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland's similar backing for continued EU membership provoked a call by Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness for a poll on a united Ireland.
The UK votes to leave the EU in 90 seconds 01:32
He told Irish broadcaster RTE the "Brexit" vote means that "the British government now has no democratic mandate to represent the views of the North in any future negotiations with the European Union and I do believe that there is a democratic imperative for a 'border poll' to be held."
His republican Sinn Fein party have longed back a union with the Republic of Ireland, who are also EU members -- a position that is bitterly opposed by their unionist partners in the government of Northern Ireland who want to preserve their position within the United Kingdom.

WHY ARE WE DECEIVING OURSELVES?, STOP ALL THE ITS TIME COMMENT??, THE LAST I CHECKED IT WAS 3PM HYPOCRATES.

The Coalition meeting was held in holland on the 11th of june and i must give thanks to all those that believe in the unity and came from all part of Europe, and to those that could not make it due to some reason, i also say thanks, i know you all are for the unity and the working together of both comedians, deejays, promoters and Artists.

Going back to how it all started i must say we did a good job, we still have alot to do and we will get there we have started and the road is going to be rough, nigerians are not easy people but we will get there,  i also know that many others are working hard to see that the unity does not happen, i say this to you, you will need to work hard, this is not about one individual this is about people that believe in what they are doing and want to make success from it, and not about who has the power or connection, this is God guiding, and when the lord is invloved in it and directs it, you can only try, you can only distract, but you will not succeed, because we are focused and that is just the thruth about it.

I see many write up on Facebook saying now is the time to come together, now its time, just like my friend would say its not about what you write on Facebook, or the many likes you get, what actions or what are you doing to make the change, we all can comment, its easy but what are we doing to see that this thing happens??.

How many of you after all the calls and assurance that was giving that you will be in Holland,  the individual contacts, the conversations actually came to holland??, how many of you actually bought tickets, how many of you were there??, pls let us stop deceiving ourselves and replying with anger or emotions, it will get us no where.
all you hear or read on Facebook is its time, pls was the coalition meeting not agreed on by you all hypocrates, i dont want to call names here, i will be forced to if i am pushed to do so, i know you all and pls dont let me spill the beans because linda Ikejis blog will love it all.

Jealousy and envy, the fight for suprimacy, the boss, the leader is our greatest problems and untill we all put our diffrences aside its only going to be song!!!!!, its time, its time, the last time i checked it was 3pm.

the coalition has been formed and the new name is Naija European Entertainers Association, (NEEA) agreed upon by the movers and belivers on the way forward, we will come out soon with what was decided, any other body apart from this one is illgal and not recorgnised, and no EU Artists, Deejays, Promoters or comedians should deal with them.
